Unlock the Shrine is the first of many masterworks by Alexander Von Meilenwald. First discovering this project around the release of Foul Semen, I never properly sat down for a good decade simply due to song lengths in a whole discography. finally sitting down for the last year and deeply analyzing the albums, that was a mistake that cost me a decade listening to this amazing project. UTS showcases all of the elements that make his unique fusion of black/doom with perfect atmosphere. 4/5

Mikolaj is a real multi-talent in bass as well as guitar as well as vocals and "Darkside" Maciej's drumming is a well-calibrated 100th-of-seconds-clockwork. Not for nothing is Mgla considered as a standard for a lot of other blacker-than-black metal bands. I hope to see this band live once.....
